Although some OU students will be able to cast their votes on Nov. 2, others won't have a chance to make it back to their home districts on Election Day. Anthony, a world-renowned hypnotist, has hypnotized more than 15,000 people and leaves audience members in pure amazement. His mesmerizing ability, along with his comedic stage presence makes for an act that will not be forgotten"Item "Kennedy wraps up fall Friday Night Live series"(Oakland University, 2003-12-12) Oakland University"The Friday Night Live fall series wrapped up last Dec. 5 with another on the edge of your seat performance, this time by comedian Scott Kennedy"Item "Kivi Rogers well worth the wait for FNL audience"(Oakland University, 2004-01-27) Oakland University"Nothing was going to stop Friday Night Live guest Kivi Rogers from performing at OU on Jan. 23, not an audition for the final episode of 'Friends' or plane cancellations, not even the Michigan cold and snow. The show was going to go on. Although starting three hours behind schedule due to weather delays, Rogers still managed to draw one of the largest Friday Night Live audiences of the season."Item "National award winner wraps up concert series"(Oakland University, 2004-03-31) Oakland University"The newly implemented Saturday Night Sounds concert series came to a close for the season March 27 with the national award-winning musician Jason Levasseur. Combining his talents of vocals, guitar and drums, Levasseur created an entertaining ensemble that encompassed many genres of music."Item "New Saturday concert series begins in January"(Oakland University, 2003-12-17) Oakland University"Beginning in January, Residence Hall Programming will offer a new Saturday concert series with free concerts for all OU students throughout the winter semester. The new series kicks off Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. when OU welcomes back the musical comedy group J Chris Newberg and the Rest. On Jan. 31, Tamara Bedricky, a recent OU graduate who has performed in clubs and at colleges from Detroit to Los Angeles, will perform. The series then ends for the semester on March 27 with singer/songwriter/guitarist Jason LeVasseur."Item "Oakland adopts smoke-free policy in residence halls"(Oakland University, 2004-07-15) Oakland University"As a reflection of an increasingly health-conscious society, growing resident concerns about smoking have led Oakland University to once again change its policy in the residence halls. Each year the House Policy Committee and the Director of University Housing, Eleanor Reynolds, meet to review and discuss all the different policies within the residence halls.
