Abstract

Excerpt from introduction: Ora Hirsch Pescovitz states: “I was a musician and I loved the arts: literature, theatre, music – but I don’t think I expected to collect art. But, my husband, who was only one year older than me, was already collecting.” Mark Pescovitz, the son of an artist and a surgeon, had found a way to forge his interests while also reflecting on his parents’ paths. By the time these two aspiring scientists were married in 1979, he had already begun amassing a small art collection.
