    Religion and Science: Two Peas in a Pod or Fruits of Different Vines

    This essay deals with the difference between religion and science. Émile Durkheim and other nineteenth century social philosophers thought that science was a child of religion and that the two belonged to the same family of collective representations. I would like to offer an opposing opinion from the point of view of cultural anthropology.
