dc.description.abstract"Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led an assemblage of more than 200,000 marchers to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., in 1963 to deliver his 'I Have a Dream' speech. Hundreds of Oakland University students, faculty and staff paid homage to King and took part in several activities, including a march, on Jan. 19 to mark the national celebration of his birthday and the beginning of OU's African-American Celebration 2004. Classes were suspended to allow students to participate in the day's activities."en_US
