dc.description.abstract | Approximately fifty percent of all untimely disease and death is preventable. This paper outlines public health issues and initiatives of concern to the Oakland community. The longterm cost to society of not addressing these issues, is immeasurable. We argue that no student educational experience is complete without exposure to such subject matter. Further, we advocate that every student should be given the opportunity to address personal wellness issues within the curriculum. | en_US |
