Harmony in variation : form and meaning in Native American art : [exhibition] Meadow Brook Art Gallery, January 11 - February 17, 2002.
Abstract
Excerpt from introduction by Andrea Eis: Each work in this exhibition is the expression of an artist whose creative vision could remain true to a personal articulation, while being explored within a powerful cultural framework. Many works express a Native American worldview: a belief in the complementary aspects of harmony and variation, and in an equibrium in oppositions.
