There has been no music program at Alcott Elementary for fifteen years, and the school is in need of a musical outlet. This program allowed some sixth grade students at Alcott the opportunity to engage in authentic musical experiences with their peers and learn about the value of music as a part of community. Furthermore I was able to deepen my understanding of elementary pedagogy.
