What is the purpose of this study?<\/strong><\/p>\nThe purpose of this research study is to help Kresge Library to better understand the needs of OU faculty for technical standards documents, and the use of technical standards by OU faculty in their research and teaching.


\nIn this context, \"technical standard\" refers to a document that provides requirements, specifications, guidelines, or characteristics that can be used consistently to ensure that materials, products, processes, and services are fit for their purpose. The publisher of such a document may be a standards-developing organization (a professional society, industry or trade association) or a government\/military agency.
