Tuesday Musicale Concert Well “By CHRIS GAENSBAUER Any performance by the Pontiac Tuesday Musicale Chorus before its own club is warmly received. This seemed especially true Tuesday after- noon when members of Pontiac Tuesday Musicale and guests ‘met“m the Grace’ Luth- eran Church, Fellowship Hall for the annual spring concert by the chorns, under’ the fine direction of Jean Putnam. To open, the chorus vigor- ously proclaimed that ‘“Every- one of Us Has Something to Sing About” from ‘Holiday Song”’ by William Schumann, and everyone listening agreed. __In_the_first_ place, the sun was shining, many a spring bonnet was making its debut and the members of the chorus were looking most attractive in their new pastel-colored_shirt- waist dresses. The new cos- tume was occasioned by the invitation for the Pontiac Chorus to sing before the State Federation of Music Clubs Con- vention in Detroit in April. CHANGE OF PACE Next on the program was “Lachrymosa” from Mozart's “Requiem,”” This quiet, rev- erent number was sung with lovely tone quality and deep feeling. - Three excerpts from the ‘Peasant Cantata’’ of Bach provided another change ‘of pace. These show the great Bach in a secular, lighthearted mood and are delightful.
