With luck and care, local injuries

Other figures from the National
Board of Fire Underwriters indi-

BOLD VOYAGERS — 2
A Viking Ship
Vikings made long voyages in what they called ‘‘dragon ships.”
| These were long low boats, driven by sail and oars, with high prows
i carved into figure heads, often of fearsome dragons.
The sails were striped and a striped, tent formed a shelter in the
center of the ship. This ship not only has a dragon prow, but:a dragon
[on its striped sail as well. The oarsmen sat along the sides protected
The bottom of the lower panel is made to resemble a woaden base

appear this week you can have your own collection of famous ship
models.
Color this picture with your crayons and paste it down on card-
‘board. Cut the parts carefully along the heavy outlines, Paste the
streamer flag to the main mast. Fasten the semi-circle to the base
with a brass fastener inserted through the indicated holes. Then the
ship will rock gently on the waves.

Is Marion Marlowe
‘Youngest Grandma?
By EARL WILSON
NEW YORK — Has it ever happened to you other husbands?
You give your wife a lecture on economizing—and you wind
up cutting down on your smoking ... David Wayne, just won-
derful in “The Loud Red Patrick,” says, “Women are all right
in their place but God forbid they should come into the home.”
Bob Hope, talking about how nice his sponsor’d been,
said: “He even sent his car out to get me — but fortunate-
ly I jumped up on the sidewalk just in time”... Jack
Benny claims his violin has a simple story: “My father
sold it to me” - Marion Marlowe's being entered_in a
contest for ‘ “youngest grandmother in the country.” (She's
qualified because her husband Larry Puck's a grampa.)
A magician — according to Norm Hendrickson of Sacra-
mento — “is a guy who can get a rabbit out of a hat but can’t
get his wife out of a bar”... We hear Martha Raye’ll do only
one free show this year: the Policeman’s Ball...

White collar workers’ song: “I Wonder What's Become of
Sclary” ... Actor Rocky Graziano speaking: “Harry Truman

to me!” You know I think President Truman would ma

Down south they tell of a person who disappeared with the
church funds. The congregation demanded: action from the
Deacons who said he’d been found. The money was missing.
“So,” said the Deacons, “we’re gonna make him come back
hére—and preach it out.” ; -
THE MIDNIGHT EARL... Jackie Gleason will do a “Fenwick Babbit” routine—involv-
ing water — that’s so hazardous his advisers have cautioned jas,
him against it... Day after Frank Costello won his citizen-
ship case he got : a ‘note froma friendly politico: “Congratula-
tions—don’t forget to vote”... Jeanne Crain flew out to start
the Joe E. Lewis movie.
