The third fact which separates Jesus from all others is this: Every other person who came into this world, :| Came into it to live. He came into it to die. Death was a stumbling block to Socrates—it interrupted his teaching. But to Christ, death was the goal of His life, the gold that He was seeking. Few of His words or actions are intelli- gible, apart from His cross. He presented Himself as a Saviour, rather than a Teacher. It meant nothing to teach men to be good, unless He gave them the power to be good, after rescuing them from the frustration of ", guilt. Unfair to Truckers Every once in a while a bill is intro- duced in the Legislature in Lansing that is so unwise or impractical that even considering it would be a waste of law- makers’ time. ; Such a bill, we believe, is that sponsored by Rep, MARSHALL, Re- publican of Allen. He has ex- pressed himself as tired of seeing outstate trucks wearing out our highways. To stop it his bill would repeal the reciprocity law governing truck license agree- ments between Michigan and other states. How much wear and tear this bill would prevent can only be guessed. But there isn’t any doubt that its enact- ment would move other states to re- taliate and require Michigan truckers to buy their license plates. This would be an unfair and needless burden on Michigan’s trucking industry. The bill should be killed in commit- tee. . SS . For a big, handsome Cadillac—with its smiling driver traveling in the lad’s direction— stopped and gave him a “lift.” And as he stood on the schoolhouse lawn and watched the car roll into the distance, he made a decision. He decided that, some day, he would own a Cadillac. And here you see him, his dream come actually costs | true, standing in the showroom of his Cadillac dealer—taking the keys to a new 1955 Cadillac! . As a Cadillac dealer, we've been privi- leged many times to see such a dream come true. And it never ceases to be a thrill. But we do feel, in all sincerity, that many motorists—not realizing the Cadillac car is practical as well as wonderful—wait too long to make the move. The lowest-priced Cadillac, for example, han twelve different models of other makes. And at the time of resale, a Cadillac traditionally returns a greater share of its owner’s investment than any other car in the land. If, like the gentleman in the picture above, you have been looking forward to a Cadillac of your own—you should give careful con- sideration to these remarkable facts.
