JOHN J. MARRA Pick Dr. Marra for Hospital Post Select Chief of Staff at Pontiac General as New Medical Director The appointment of Dr. John J. Marra, Pontiac General Hospital Chief of Staff, to the néw post of hospital medical director was an- nounced today by Harold B, Euler, hospita] administrator. The $12,000-a-year job which Dr. Marra fills is designed to provide closer liaison between the hos- pital’s administration and medical staff, Euler said. “The appointment represents a milestone for us,” Euler said, “since this is the first time that a medical doctor has joined the active administrative staff." Dr. Marra, 46, of 1430 Nakomis Dr., Orion Township, will continue to act as hospital pathologist and director of laboratories, a position that he has held with the hospital . on a contractual basis. the past five years. Accepting the new post, Dr, Mar- ra announced his resignation from the job of chief of staff, which he has held since January, and an- nounced his own appointment of Dr. Glen Bylsma as dssistant di- rector of laboratories. The hospital's Board of Trustees created the medical director post when it reorganized the hospital's administration two weeks ago, According to Euler, Dr. Marra’s prime duty will be the coordination of the hospital's staff training pro- gram, both here and through the hospital’s affiliation with the Uni- versity of Michigan Medical School.
