(Hansen returned to OU\222s campus last September to deliver a seminar ti\

(Afterwards, he spoke of the quality of his undergraduate experience and \

(\223Even in 1979, Oakland was clearly emerging as a Michigan university \

(whole senior year learning what research is really like. I was given all\

(succeed. I loved it and realized that biological research could possibly\
be a career choice for me.\224)Tj

(Near the end of his senior year, Hansen expressed an interest in attendi\
ng a national conference on biology with Moudgil, who)Tj

(adapted his presentation to include Hansen\222s work and helped him appl\
y for a university travel grant. Hansen earned the grant,)Tj

(presented his research at the conference and decided to pursue a doctora\
