This thesis project explored the differing attitudes towards mental health in Eastern and Western countries, with a narrowed-down focus on the United States and South Korea. This thesis aimed to find out if there is a significant cultural difference between attitudes about mental health in the U.S. and South Korea by examining several different forms of media, such as books, television shows, and movies. The benefits of this project include providing a more in-depth understanding of cultural differences in mental health, and will help mental health professionals as well as others to understand these differences and accommodate for them in their practices and daily lives.en_US
