Abstract

If aesthetic experiences ever come up in a conversation (and they do occasionally), I am ready to recount my greatest one of all. It happened at the Meadowbrook Music Festival, August 30, 1969, and it was hearing and seeing Andre Watts play Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Detroit Symphony, conducted by Seiji Ozawa.
